“By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.” – Hebrews 11:11
Imagine being told you will run a marathon, but you’ve been bound to a wheelchair your whole life, or that you’ll see again after having lost your sight. These things are comparable to the amount of disbelief Sarah must have had when God promised her and Abraham a child. She was near 100 years of age as was Abraham, and well past her younger years and child-bearing capabilities. Nevertheless, God made and fulfilled His promise. And while there was some doubt on Sarah’s part (as she’s only human), she ultimately believed and was blessed.
Admirable Qualities Of Sarah’s Faith:
- Sarah continued to believe through the doubting.
- Sarah trusted God through the impossibilities.
What are your life’s impossibilities? Do you believe that God can work through them? Is there doubt in that that you need to hand over to God?
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.” – Proverbs 3:5-7
