“By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.” – Hebrews 11:7
Noah may have never seen rain before the flood (cf. Gen 2:5-6 for a possible argument for this case… disclaimer, this does not 100% guarantee this point is true). Did you know that? If CCR came to Noah and asked him “Have You Ever Seen The Rain?” he’d say, “Rain? I hardly Noah her.”
Sorry, that was all kinds of bad.
But Noah, by faith, dropped everything and spent many many years building a giant boat for a flood caused by a natural event that he had not seen before. And even if he had, this is still a crazy notion. Everyone around him began disowning him and calling him crazy. He was alienated by society besides his family, yet he remained faithful.
Admirable Qualities of Noah’s Faith:
- Noah lived by faith and not by sight (cf. 2 Cor 5:7).
- He remained steadfast and faithful through even the trials and persecution (Jas 1:2-4).
Remember that Noah faced global issues and issues at home, as most of us are. Remember that through all the persecution, questioning, and struggle, if you’re faithful to God, He will be faithful to you.
