“For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” – Colossians 3:3-4
“By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?” – Romans 6:2
“What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!” – Romans 6:15
“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” – 1 John 2:1
Even though God says when Jesus died we died to sin, we often feel stuck anyways, like it’s impossible to get out—we’re allowing ourselves to be alive in sin even though it’s been defeated and we no longer need to be. He saved us, yet we won’t let Him help us out. We fight and try to do it ourselves. What caused us to stumble is our fleshly desire to solve problems ourselves instead of leaning on God. Lean on Him, then you can die to your sins and gain your life in Christ. These verses say it better than I do, so I’ll leave it at this for today.
