“And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it. It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools, they shall not go astray.” – Isaiah 35:8
God’s way is the only way. We did traps for ourselves when we try to get by on our own. We shoot ourselves in the foot. We’re told several times to let Him take the reigns.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
“He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.” – Psalm 23:2
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” – James 4:7
The old phrase “My way or the Highway” holds not true here—in fact, God’s way IS the highway. Remember that He’s the only way to eternal life (cf. Jn. 14:6). So, stop creating your own path that drives you from the Lord. Instead, let Him lead you and guide you. He wants to, and He will.
